Discovery to Translation

The Lab for Antibody and Nanobody Phage Display and Discovery (LAUNCHPAD) and the IMmunotherapy Platform for Antibody, mRNA and CAR Therapeutics and Translation (IMPACT²) are preclinical research centers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute with a shared mission to streamline the “discovery to translation” of antibody-based immunotherapies for cancer by assembling accessible, centralized, and orthogonal expertise and infrastructure for the discovery, engineering and production, high-throughput (HT) screening, and optimization of immunotherapy libraries.

End-to-End Workflows for Antibody-Based Therapeutics Development

We have assembled and developed end-to-end workflows, methods, and tools to:

Identify antibody "hits" (through LAUNCHPAD) and
Engineer those hits into libraries of therapeutic biologics and CAR immune effector formats, and support production and functional characterization (through IMPACT²).

We partner closely with principal investigators to develop bespoke, high-throughput screening workflows that complement their capabilities and accelerate the identification of clinically relevant lead antibody and cell therapy candidates.

We partner with lab-based principal investigators and their collaborators who are seeking to translate promising targets into viable antibody-based therapeutic candidates.

While many programs will start within LAUNCHPAD and move to IMPACT², investigators can also work with either center independently. Programs are reviewed regularly for both scientific strength and market potential (including intellectual property considerations) to determine whether — and how — they advance within the pipeline.
