Center for Patient Derived Models

At the Center for Patient Derived Models, our dedicated team of researchers is committed to transforming cancer treatment through a collaborative, multi-faceted approach. We focus on these key areas to accelerate the use of patient-derived cancer models:

METHOD DEVELOPMENT
Developing and utilizing novel modeling and testing methods for patient-derived models.

CANCER MODELS
Rapidly increasing the number of characterized patient-derived models across all adult and pediatric cancers.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Creating a centralized, specialized resource for better access to cancer modeling capabilities across Dana-Farber, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Boston Children's Hospital.

FUNCTIONAL DIAGNOSTICS
Accelerating the use of these models as functional diagnostic assays for drug sensitivity testing in clinical trials and validated clinical indications.

COLLABORATION
Developing relationships with industry and academia to access, assess, and utilize new technologies for model development, characterization, and testing.

Accelerating Cancer Research Through High-Quality Models and Data

The Center for Patient Derived Models (CPDM) facilitates model availability and quality for Dana-Farber investigators and the wider cancer community. CPDM supports researchers by generation, characterization, storage, and distribution of models of various types, including patient derived cell lines (PDCL), patient derived xenograft models (PDX), and fresh cell preparations.
