• Parking at Dana-Farber

Where to park or drop off patients

Whether you self-park, valet park, or need to drop off a patient, you should enter the parking garage under Dana-Farber's Yawkey Center for Cancer Care. You can enter the garage from Jimmy Fund Way. See maps.

You may park your own car, but keep in mind that there is no extra charge for valet parking. If you are only dropping someone off and then leaving, you will not need to pay for parking.

    When is the garage open?

The Dana-Farber garage is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during clinic hours on weekends and holidays.

To receive the patient parking rate

Please pick up a parking barcode sticker by showing your patient ID card to staff at one of these locations:

    • Central Registration on the second floor of Dana-Farber's Yawkey Center for Cancer Care, weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
    • The Jimmy Fund Clinic on the third floor of the Dana building. This clinic for pediatric patients is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Using your parking barcode sticker (for patients)

After you have your parking barcode sticker, you should use your patient ID card (with barcode sticker) when you enter the Dana-Farber garage:

    1. As you enter the garage, at the bottom of the ramp, swipe your patient ID card (with barcode sticker) in the barcode reader.
    2. Then, push the button on the ticket dispenser to receive your patient rate parking ticket. Please keep this ticket with you. You will need it when you pay for parking.

    How much does parking cost?

As of October 2010, parking rates for patients are:

    • 0 – 1 hour: $5
    • 1 – 1.5 hours: $7
    • 1.5 – 2 hours: $8
    • 2 – 3 hours: $10
    • 3 – 24 hours: $12

There is no extra charge for valet parking.

If you have financial hardship, please talk with your care coordinator about parking fees.

Paying for parking and getting your car

When you are ready to leave, you can pay for parking at these locations:

    • Self-pay parking kiosks on floors 1, 2, and P2 in the Yawkey Center (kiosks are located near the parking elevators, accepting credit/debit cards only)
    • Self-pay parking kiosks in the Jimmy Fund Clinic (on the third floor of the Dana building, accepting credit/debit cards only)
    • Cashier in the waiting area on floor P1 in the Yawkey Center. The cashier accepts payment via cash, check, credit card, or debit card.

Be sure to keep your paid ticket. You will need to show it to an attendant when you exit the garage.

If you use valet parking and pay at the self-pay parking kiosks on floors 1 or 2 in the Yawkey Center, remember to swipe your valet claim ticket at the Valet Ticket Reader on these floors. This will let valet staff know that you are ready to pick up your vehicle.

Should I self-park or use the valet service?

There is no extra charge for valet parking. You are welcome to park your own car, or you may use our valet parking program by leaving your car and keys with a parking attendant.

After you park, please take your garage ticket with you. You will need it when you pay for parking.

If you self-park, please follow patient parking signs to access Yawkey Center parking levels and elevators.

Can someone help me get into the building?

Yes. Security officers and parking attendants can help patients who need wheelchairs, help getting into the building, or assisted (valet) parking. Attendants are available during clinic hours.
