Primarily serving front-line and entry level staff, the Office of Workforce Development manages initiatives and facilitates curriculum to support the acquiring and/or improving of the necessary skills and knowledge to advance one's career. Curriculum offerings include skills-building courses, professional development seminars, and academic/career coaching.

Professional Development

In partnership with the Multicultural Professional Network Employee Resource Group, Lunch and Learn training and educational opportunities are offered to staff. Topics are designed to support the professional and personal growth of attendees.

Academic and Career Coaching/Advising

Staff have access to services that can assist with interviewing, résumé writing, career development, and employee relations.

Adult Internships

The YMCA Training, Inc. Program is an intensive 20-week, full-time (600 hours) computerized office skills training and employment program. Designed to replicate the expectations of a professional office environment, the training prepares participants with both the technical and job readiness skills to succeed. Successful participants in this program are identified for internship and employment opportunities at Dana-Farber.

Fellowship and Internship

The Office of Workforce Development is also a host site for an AmeriCorps Massachusetts Promise fellow and a Boston College Graduate School of Social Work intern.
