Biography
Andrea C. Enzinger, MD
Dr. Enzinger is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a health services researcher at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She received her MD with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, then completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and dual fellowships in Palliative Medicine and Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber/Mass General Hospital. She practices as a medical oncologist in the Dana-Farber Gastrointestinal Cancer Center. Her research program is focused on mitigating suffering caused by advanced cancers. Specific areas of interest include understanding and overcoming barriers to quality pain management--particularly for disadvantaged populations, and improving prognostic communication between patients, caregivers, and providers. A major focus of her lab is developing and testing novel self-management interventions for advanced cancer populations. She is particularly interested in digital health solutions for symptoms including pain. Her research has been supported by the NIH, PCORI, Fund for Innovation in Cancer Informatics, among others.
