Biography

Brigid K. Killelea, MD, MPH

Dr. Killelea is the Co-Director of the Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Program and Lead for Regional Expansion Multidisciplinary Oncology in the Department of Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital and an Associate Surgeon at the Dana-Farber Cancer Center at Chestnut Hill.  She is also an attending breast surgeon at the Dana-Farber Cancer Center in Association with South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth. 

Prior to medical school, Dr. Killelea was a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay and completed an MPH at Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health.  Dr. Killelea received her medical degree from University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed a general surgery residency at St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center, New York Medical College in New York City.  Dr. Killelea completed a breast surgery fellowship at the Beth Israel/St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. 

Her clinical research efforts focus on high value care and breast cancer disparities.  She has a clinical interest in oncoplastic procedures, and spent time in Edinburgh, Scotland and Paris, France receiving additional training.  She also has clinical interests in inflammatory breast cancer (IBC), sentinel lymph node biopsy, and breast conservation.  Dr. Killelea is active in several national societies and was invited to serve as the Program Chair for the 2023 American Society of Breast Surgeons Annual Meeting.
