Research Focus
My research focuses on the functional genomics of two lymphoid malignancies, diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and multiple myeloma (MM). We have defined genetic abnormalities in these diseases using whole genome and whole exome sequencing techniqes. We are investigating the genetic heterogeneity that exists between patients, and we are particularly interested in the heterogeneity of these malignancies in any individual patient. This work allows us to define those genetic abnormalities that are most likely to drive DLBCL and MM. Our eventual goal is the development of targeted therapeutic approaches based on the genetic abnormalities in the individual patient.
