Vinayak Venkataraman, MD

Vinayak is a medical oncologist focused on the treatment of bone and soft tissue sarcomas.  He is also a board-certified internist and pediatrician with expertise in supporting the unique physical, emotional, and socioeconomic needs of adolescent and young adults (AYAs, age 15-39 years old) facing cancer.

Vinayak was born and raised in Rochester, NY, obtained a BSE in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University, received an MD from Duke University School of Medicine, completed combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital, and completed Medical Oncology fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Brigham and Women's Hospital.

He is interested in optimizing cancer care delivery to young adults by leveraging novel technologies, in reducing financial burden and improving socioeconomic well-being in cancer survivors, and in enhancing cardiovascular health and fitness in cancer survivors.  He is involved in institutional, regional, and national efforts related to AYA cancer care and sarcomas.  He is also passionate about creative and reflective writing in medicine.
