  • Cancer Diagnostic Service

    The Cancer Diagnostic Service at Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center can expedite a diagnosis in patients that present with signs or symptoms of cancer and where the appropriate next steps are unclear. Our service provides an efficient path to reach a timely diagnosis and avoid unnecessary testing and delays in treatment.

    How to transfer a patient in an emergency

    We can help with the rapid transfer and transport of patients to our facilities. Our team will facilitate communication between you and receiving physicians, locate inpatient beds, and arrange transport.

    For adult patients, call 877-637-3337 and press "2" for Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dana-Farber partners with Brigham and Women's Hospital for adult care.

    For pediatric patients, call 866-771-KIDS (5437). Dana-Farber collaborates with Boston Children's Hospital to provide inpatient care for children.

    Physician liaisons are available to assist you with patient referrals, consultations with specialists, and background information about our physicians and services. For adult care, call 617-632-2040. For pediatric care, call 617-919-3002.

    Clinical Trials

    Clinical trials are scientific studies in which new treatments – drugs, diagnostic procedures, and other therapies – are tested in patients to determine if they are safe and effective.     Clinical Trials for Breast Cancer Patients

    Dana-Farber trials include for immunotherapy and targeted treatments for hormone receptor positive, HER2-positive, and triple-negative breast cancer. Many of our trials are changing the standard of care worldwide and are not available elsewhere.

    Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapies

    Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center has a long history utilizing cellular therapies to treat blood cancers and blood disorders. Over more than 30 years, we have performed more than 9,200 hematopoietic stem cell transplants, the original form of cellular therapy. We continue to offer patients the latest treatments, including CAR T-cell therapy, other genetically-modified T cells, and cancer vaccines.
