Live Webchat: Parenting During Cancer Treatment
Webchat: Parenting During Cancer Treatment
Information From Social Workers and a Patient
Parents and guardians living with cancer tuned in on Thursday, August 20, at 12:00 p.m. ET, for a live video webchat with social workers Allison Dibiaso, LICSW, and Kelly Drummond, LCSW. Viewers and participants learned tips for:
- Telling children about a cancer diagnosis
- Managing family life during treatment
- Forming a support system
Dibiaso and Drummond, who work with Dana-Farber’s Family Connections program, were joined by Sarah Silvia, a patient raising three young sons during treatment.
As with most of our webchats, viewers submitted their questions by emailing webchats@dfci.harvard.edu, or by tweeting them to @DanaFarber using the hashtag #DFCIwebchat.
