Melanie Conroy works as legal counsel at Pierce Atwood LLP, where she focuses her practice on class action defense and complex commercial litigation. She has represented clients in connection with internal, government, and regulatory investigations, and has counseled boards of directors, board committees, and senior management on a broad range of matters, including securities, corporate governance, disclosure, data privacy, and regulatory issues.

Melanie represents businesses and organizations across a wide range of industries, including life sciences, financial services, insurance, private equity, real estate, energy, media, consumer electronics, and retail apparel. Melanie regularly appears in state and federal trial courts, and is experienced in private arbitration and mediation.

Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Melanie was a senior associate in the Securities Litigation Practice Group at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Melanie writes frequently on topics including class action litigation, data privacy matters, and securities laws.

Melanie is a member of the Boston Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the NYC Bar Association, and the Harvard Law School Women’s Alliance of Boston.

Melanie is a resident of Newton, where she is a parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish, a member of the Newton Mother’s Forum, and a proud supporter of the Newton Free Library.

Melanie received her B.A., cum laude, in Government and Legal Studies and Religion from Bowdoin College. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she served as an Executive Editor of the Harvard Human Rights Journal.
