Back in the Swing

The Friends sincerely thank sponsors and guests at Back in the Swing with Friends. The event was held outdoors and spread out for safety, and guests enjoyed time to mingle, eat, drink, and practice their driving, chipping, and putting while supporting Dana-Farber’s life-saving mission and quest for a cure. Together, we raised more than $175,000 to fund critical research and patient care programs at the Institute.

The Friends held a virtual workshop series on topics including wine tasting, home entertaining, and fitness.
Dinner with Friends, Hosted by Chef Jeremy Sewall
In April 2020, Dinner with Friends, Hosted by Chef Jeremy Sewall was reimagined as a virtual campaign and celebration. Although we could not be together, we continued to support each other, our patients, and our mission by raising more than $275,000 to fund research and patient care at Dana-Farber. Thank you to our host, Chef Jeremy Sewall, and our intended guest chefs, as well as to our generous sponsors for their support as we adjusted our plans to keep our community and our supporters safe.

Lunch and Vintage Designer Handbag Auction
The Friends of Dana-Farber and their friends enjoyed lunch in recognition of September and October: Ovarian and Breast Cancer Awareness Months, as well as a keynote focused on keeping the women in our lives healthy and happy. A beautifully curated vintage handbag auction helped raise more than $90,000 for patient care at Dana-Farber.

The evening was an opportunity for guests to interact with top chefs, observe them as they collaborate in the kitchen, and enjoy a delicious dinner and treats – all while raising funds for innovative research and patient care at Dana-Farber.

Our favorite rhinestone cowboys and cowgirls showed up at Loretta's Last Call to eat, drink, dance, and raise more than $24,000 for the Friends of Dana-Farber. More than 200 guests enjoyed a one-night-only dining experience, courtesy of Host Chef Jeremy Sewall and his celebrity chef friends. The event raised more than $470,000 for the Friends and celebrated friendship, food, and philanthropy.
Dancing for a Cure
February 10, 2018
Six hundred dancers raised more than $27,000 for breast and ovarian cancer research at Dana-Farber at the eighth annual Dancing for a Cure fundraiser, held February 10 in Mashpee, MA. The fundraiser, which features a 5K dance marathon, was created by Susan Mendoza Friedman of the Friends of Dana-Farber in honor of her friend who was diagnosed with stage III ovarian cancer at 51. Dancing for a Cure has raised more than $400,000 for women’s cancers research at Dana-Farber over the last 11 years.
Saks "Key to the Cure" 2017 Style Your Story

The Friends of Dana-Farber, the Jimmy Fund, and Saks Fifth Avenue kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Saks Key to the Cure with “Style Your Story,” a fashion-fueled fundraiser to benefit the Friends and Dana-Farber. Guests enjoyed cocktails from Privateer Rum, wines by Chloe, light bites from Eataly, Oath Craft Pizza, and other area eateries, as well as a runway show featuring local style influencers.
