New Patient Appointments

To deliver exceptional care, we provide every patient a multidisciplinary team which includes liver cancer experts in oncology, interventional radiology, surgery, radiation oncology, and hepatology. These specialists have a wide variety of skill sets and collaborate to deliver a personalized treatment plan. This approach is especially essential in liver cancers as patients often need more than one form of treatment.

Many treatments are used to address hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) including immune therapy, biologic therapy, oral agents, and radiation. In addition, patients have access to many innovative clinical trials, cutting-edge treatments including irreversible electroporation, selective radio therapy, external beam and supraphysiologic testosterone therapy, and various other resources. Treatment plans depend on the liver cancer's type and stage.

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC), or bile duct cancer, is mostly treated with chemotherapy, though it is also at the center of many studies to determine new approaches to its treatment.

Tumors That Metastasize to the Liver

In addition to primary liver cancer, we treat patients with cancer that has metastasized to the liver and require liver-directed therapies. Similar to primary liver cancer, we approach treatment of secondary liver cancer with a multidisciplinary team. Treatments may include radiation, surgery, and Y90. Y90 is a treatment that inserts radioactive isotope yttrium90 into tiny glass or resin beads and places them inside blood vessels to deliver radiation directly to the tumor.
