The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation will host the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Blood Mobile – the traveling extension of the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center – for a series of blood drives this week at Patriots training camp in Foxborough. The drives will take place onboard the blood mobile in the Gillette Stadium Fan Zone on the following days:
Blood products collected during the drives will benefit patients at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Both hospitals are in urgent need of blood donors. A nation-wide shortage of blood products, driven in part by fewer donations during the summer months, has resulted in low inventory levels.
The blood drives are open to the public. Due to space limitations, appointments are encouraged and can be scheduled by emailing: BloodDonor@partners.org, calling 617-632-3206 or visiting: www.tinyurl.com/TrainingCampJuly2018
To donate blood, you should be at least 17 years old, 110 pounds or heavier, and in good health. Please be well hydrated, drink extra water before and after donation, and eat before donating.
