Site is enhanced with improved resources for patients and referring doctors

The Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center has launched a fully redesigned website designed to be user-friendly and intuitive, making it easier for patients and referring physicians to easily find the information they need and improving their overall online experience. The revamped site offers users enhanced functionality and an engaging and contemporary look and feel.

Showcasing the depth of experience in pediatric cancer and blood disorders at the center, the site serves as a front door to the center, which is a collaboration of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children’s Hospital.  It provides detailed information on conditions that are treated, becoming a patient, making an appointment or obtaining a second opinion, ongoing clinical trials, research, and patient and family support resources.

The site also has enhanced features for medical professionals, including making referrals and education and training opportunities.

“We know that more and more, patients and their families, and healthcare professionals, take their first steps online,” said Scott Armstrong, MD, PhD, President, Dana-Farber/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. “We want to make it as easy as possible for them to find the resources they need, and to access our services. This site explains our joint center and provides a clear pathway to the most relevant programs at our hospitals.”

The site was designed with input from the Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Pediatric Patient Family Advisory Councils, volunteers, physicians, and parents.
