Cancer Care Equity Program Events and Publications

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's Christopher Lathan, MD, MS, MPH, and Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center's Karen Burns White host the Annual Cancer Disparities Research Symposium in recognition of National Minority Cancer Awareness. This event is organized by Dana-Farber's Cancer Care Equity Program (CCEP) and Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center.

Dr. Christopher Lathan is a thoracic medical oncologist at Dana-Farber's Lowe Center for Thoracic Oncology. He is the Institute's Chief Clinical Access and Equity Officer, and the Founding Director for Dana-Farber's Cancer Care Equity Program.

Karen Burns White is the Deputy Associate Director of Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center's Initiative to Eliminate Cancer Disparities.

Narjust Florez, MD, Named One of Newsweek's Greatest Disruptors

Narjust Florez, MD, associate director of Dana-Farber’s Cancer Care Equity Program, has been named one of Newsweek's Greatest Disruptors. The program honors innovators using technology to drive transformative change. Through her work, Florez is changing perceptions of lung cancer, improving screenings, and combating disparities in medical care.


Shail Maingi, MD, Named a 2023 Castle Connolly Top LGBTQ+ Doctor

Congratulations to Shail Maingi, MD, who has been recognized by Castle Connolly as an exceptional LGBTQ+ doctor, representing "the pinnacle of excellence, compassion, and cultural diversity."
