Awards and Recognition
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has earned the Magnet Recognition Program® designation five times. The Magnet credential is conferred by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) — the nation's preeminent accreditation organization – for excellence in nursing service and practice.
Dana-Farber is one of approximately 5,400 health care facilities and schools of nursing in all 50 states and 35 other countries and territories that participate in the DAISY Award program, which is sponsored by the DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Foundation.
Dana-Farber was the recipient of the 2023 Oncology Nursing Society Outstanding Employer Award. Each year, the Society recognizes one organization for its investment in advancing oncology nursing practice through research and evidence-based practice.
In 2023, Dana-Farber’s inpatient hospital received two awards from Press Ganey. The Institute was recognized with their Guardian of Excellence Award, given to organizations that performed in the top 5% in surveys that measure patient experience. In addition, their Pinnacle of Excellence Award recognized Dana-Farber as a top performer in maintaining consistently high levels of excellence in patient experience from surveys over a three-year period.
