About the Genitourinary Cancer Treatment Center

  • Dana-Farber’s Lank Center for Genitourinary Oncology provides compassionate care and the most effective therapies for prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancer, as well as many other rare and common cancers. Staffed by medical, urologic, and radiation oncologists, our center offers the latest treatments fueled by ongoing discovery.

At the Lank Center, we want our patients to receive the safest, best treatment for their cancer. Our center provides compassionate care that is informed by research into the most effective therapies.

We know you face challenges that extend into family, work, and other responsibilities. That knowledge guides how our team of specialists works with you to create a care plan that takes your individual goals and needs into account.

Our team will build a treatment plan tailored to your cancer, based on the latest surgical, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and/or radiation treatment approaches, including access to clinical trials.

In addition to offering the latest in clinical care, we provide a wide range of resources — from support groups to nutritional advice to complementary therapies — to support you physically and emotionally throughout your treatment.

We also offer Patient Navigation, which can assist you as you move through the cancer care continuum. Patient Navigation can help with arranging various forms of financial support, scheduling transportation to and from appointments, organizing child care during appointments, and more. Our GU Patient Navigator provides education about prostate cancer and treatment options, and upon request, will sit with you before, during and after your consultations with our clinicians.

  • Center for BRCA and Related Genes

Mutations in BRCA1, BRCA2, and BRCA-related genes confer increased risk of certain cancers when inherited. These mutations can also be acquired by the cancers themselves. The Center for BRCA and Related Genes provides comprehensive care for patients with inherited and acquired mutations, including clinical therapeutic trials, trials of risk-reducing strategies, and studies of novel early detection markers.
